Small groups. Big adventures.

Adventure Club

Adventure Club is designed for dogs who crave adventure, exploration, and movement.

Rather than another trip around the neighborhood, your pup spends 90 minutes hiking scenic trails with a small group of carefully matched canine friends on a trainer-led adventure. Every outing includes time to sniff, explore, splash, climb, and simply enjoy being a dog. Your pup is guaranteed to return home physically exercised, mentally fulfilled, and ready for a well-earned nap.

My passion for dogs and animals started at a very young age. After realizing that my college degree and early career choices weren’t rooted in these interests, I knew I needed to pivot.

Not long after, I felt I found my calling as a Reservation Specialist at nearby Dogwood Acres Pet Retreat. The role was rewarding and I loved being able to express my creativity with each customer (doggy photoshoots anyone?), but after four years there, I was still craving a more hands-on opportunity with greater purpose.

After spending time volunteering at the Annapolis SPCA as a dog walker (I previously fostered four dogs through their program and rescued my pup, Foster!), I was presented with an opportunity by the owner of Annapolis Dog Walkers to join their team. Combining my love of the outdoors with my newfound passion for dog walking, I accepted their offer. This awesome experience helped me brainstorm what I finally wanted to do; provide my own pet care service!

Life has taught me the true value of time: this is why I want pet parents to feel, not only comfortable but empowered when they travel without their furry friends. There was once a time when I considered myself the “queen of multitasking” and I now see that this culture we live in, where busyness is often glorified, can be quite toxic. I want to know that I took time to enjoy the things I truly love, like spending time with friends and family and doing things that were truly important to me.

With Leash on Life, it is my pleasure and privilege to provide premium pet care services in the form of overnight care and customized training. I promote balanced living, not only for myself but for my clients and their pets. Life is what we make of it and when you take back your time, you take back your life. Trust me when I say, your sanity (and your dog) will thank you!

FAQ

With over a decade of professional experience in pet care and dog training, I promise to love and care for your pets as if they were my own. I would have more pets myself, but as it turns out, it’s much more cost-effective to simply incorporate other families’ fur babies into my life so that I am not the sole provider. All joking aside, this work is my career and passion and I take the care and training of every pet very seriously. As my previous and current clients have stated, I am extremely respectful, responsible and reliable when it comes to the care of their beloved family members.

I am fully bonded and insured through Pet Sitters Associates, LLC so that both myself and your pets are protected. My comprehensive insurance includes broadened property damage coverage and bonding as well as expanded coverage for client pets. Only the best for my furry friends and their pet parents! Thankfully, I’ve never needed to utilize my insurance.

Our initial meet and greet will simply be a “getting to know you” session at my personal residence – your pup’s future home away from home. The meet and greet is no cost to you and typically takes 30 minutes to an hour. We will discuss daily care, walking gear, training if desired as well as any special requests or needs your pet(s) may have while noting baseline behavior from your pet(s).

I cannot provide services if I have not had the opportunity to meet you and your pet(s) prior to care.

Great question! At this time, I exclusively offer boarding in my home. In my many years of experience, I have seen dogs boarding at kennels, cared for pups in my own home and stayed with them at theirs. It’s been my observation that kennels can often be overstimulating and stressful, while my home provides a safer, more comfortable environment with much greater individualized attention.

Outings/walks are guaranteed every 4 hours although I stay with your pup(s) all throughout the day aside from the odd job errand. My aim is to keep their schedule as consistent as possible and to do what you typically do when you’re not traveling. If you usually go to work 9-5, I will plan to be out of the house during similar hours. If you are retired and at home most of the day, I will plan to be at home most of the day. Consistency is so very important for all of our pets and I don’t want anyone coming home to a pup that has developed a bad case of separation anxiety. And if your pup has separation anxiety, that’s actually something we can focus on during training!

If you find yourself needing to add or change a service last minute, I cannot make any guarantees regarding availability although I will do everything in my power to accommodate you and your pet’s needs.
